Miami Beat Wave & dead prez: This Is Life

Peace,

During the last couple of months dead prez has been working on a lot of new material such as the Revolutionary But Gangsta Grillz mixtape tape with DJ Drama. As well as a gem that they feature on for South Florida native production team Miami Beat Wave entitled "This Is Life"... This has got to be one of the illest records I have heard from these two veteran emcees and you know that's saying a lot with the bangers they've dropped in a successful 10 year span. This is the first single off of Miami Beat Wave's upcoming compilation Slight Modification
Download and enjoy this masterpiece!

DJ Drama & Dead Prez: Revolutionary But Gangsta Grillz

Peace ya'll!,

If you haven't heard dead prez & DJ Drama have dropped a new Gangsta Grillz entitled : Revolutionary But Gangsta Grillz - Turn Off The Radio Vol. 4... Recorded and mixed at Miami Beat Wave studios, this was a project that most people might not expect from the Brooklyn duo but it clearly delivers. Personally it is refreshing to listen to a mixtape of this caliber, and with a dope concept. Check out this crazy mixtape ya'll, download it and enjoy!

Haiti: A Shattered Pearl...

On, Tuesday, January 12, an earthquake with a 7.3 magnitude rocked and devastated Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The earthquake crushed the national palace, the cathedral, hospitals, schools, a prison and entire neighborhoods. Even the United Nations office collapsed and between 50 – 100 staff members are missing. While there is no official count, thousands are feared dead.

In effort to help the impoverished nation, South Florida’s top promoters and entertainment companies have teamed up with the Carma Foundation (www.carmafoundation.org) to raise money. Founded by Melky Jean, Wyclef Jean’s sister, Carma’s mission is to improve the health of poor vulnerable women and children in Haiti. Before the earthquake, Haiti had the highest poverty level in the western hemisphere. It is evident that the recent earthquake has plunged the country into further hardship. Haiti needs our help.

The event will be held on Monday, January 18 at Karma Nightclub in South Beach, FL.

WHO: The Carma Foundation

WHAT: HAITI: A SHATTERED PEARL

WHEN: Monday, January 18, 2010

TIME: 6pm – 10pm (Live Band Performance)

WHERE: Karma. 619 Washington Avenue. Miami Beach, FL.

The "Leap Year EP"

"Ladies & Gentlemen... Introducing... St. LaRok!!!" From day 1 I heard this guy spit I knew he was the real deal. From his delivery right down to his lyrical construction St. LaRok is the complete opposite of the watered down rapper of today. With amazing features already under his belt (Flow Official's "Played Out" & the multiple collabos on DaVincci's "Sneak Peek Mixtape") the fellow "Beat Wave" member drops his long awaited solo EP. All I have to say is listen and let yourself be re-introduced to the real side of HipHop. You heard it here first, holla!

" This EP marks a step into the forefront; a milestone from fear of scrutiny or failure. Produced entirely alongside my crew, Miami Beat Wave, it symbolizes a journey beginning with a leap of faith, and resulting in a compilation of works that embody a year's worth of collaborative effort, struggle, and sacrifice.

These songs are heart and soul, mixed in with a little ingenuity and a lot of creative influence. On behalf of myself and MBW, we present the Leap Year EP. "

Off The Top

Off The Top

We wake up everyday like we are in a routine similar to groundhog's day. During this time we usually begin to forget about the little things that actually matter more than anything else. We do not show appreciation to those who are around us and really love us for who we are and show loyalty as well as support. Life is too short for any type of doubt or regret or what "if's" or what "could've been" so if you have that opportunity to speak to whoever that person might be, then you do it. Never hold anything back or be afraid of voicing yourself, it might be your only chance to express yourself. Tell them how you feel and open to them and you'll see how it will change you in a positive way and create more ground in that relationship. Whether it's your spouse, son or daughter, friend or loved one or even an enemy it will show you more about your character and as a human being as well as your ability to communicate your thoughts to someone else...

If your put in a situation where your told "it's a slight chance" then you go with the slight chance simply because you NEVER GIVE UP especially if it's family! I have a friend who like all of us is going through his rough times, but he is strong. I admire the tenacity and the will to keep going, but at times I would see him burnt out because in all reality it takes a huge toll on you... Overall though if your reading this know that I will go to hell on back with you and I am proud of calling you a friend...
I am thankful for everybody that's around me at this point in my life and would not trade anyone of them for anything! To the team: Know that I am where I am because of the 3 of you and I am honored to work with the best.

"We are never promised tomorrow so love like there isn't one"

Old Memories

You see apparently

I let it pass like the memories, instead of me/

I put you first and now we enemies/

Never be, another like you and me/

Heavenly, is what I felt like a melody/

For the most, you saw a better me I suppose/

Telling me, that you need me don't go/

Baby please, I really need you don't go/

3 months left, and we still got close/

2 months left and we at our throats/

1 month left and we kissed no more/

gazing at the ring that I had to propose/

Now my shits packed right next to the door/

All I really wanted was for you to come close/

All you really wanted was a person to pose/

like a man that, had no use for the most/

Now I'm getting calls like I'm good for both/

I could never forget ....These old memories,

Never thought of regret ....I feel it enter me

we had a loss of respect ....I see a better me,

now we came to see ....what is was it will never be

Free Speech Album by Flow Official

The Free Speech Album

Since the first time I heard "That's How We Build" I felt the duo's fierce raps. Representing the true essence of real HipHop the duo has come back yet again with there latest "Free Speech". A real sick and rugged street album that features a slew of artist like St. LaRok (Miami Beat Wave) Phamous, Seven Star, Bori Puro, Elohim, Ivis & S. Spoken. I recommend ya'll pick this up, it is a must have for the HipHop heads! Look out for their new album "Architects" coming in September...

We Chose

Once upon a time, not long ago

There was a little boy that wanted dough

Fascinated by the fame, drugs & hoes

Imagining a better life that's not foreclosed

Infected by the Hype & the flashy clothes

He wanted money fast, so he sold some dro'

bagging up 20's as he worked on his flow

He had a master plan and it continued to grow, oh!

Graduated from weed and now fucks with blow, oh!

Stacking up c-notes, feeling untouchable

No longer hungry for using the microphone

Now he's living lavish, wildin' out & out of control

Thought he was a king but, little did he know

He caught the germ from a young heartless hoe

Now he's in his death bed and his life flash slow

infront of his eyes, Now he's laying down, both eyes closed OH!

cause it's the life you chose... anything else wouldn't be as it goes, so I suppose cause it's the life I chose

On my 16's!
